Hey, I’m Daniel. I’m a creative professional located in the DFW Metroplex of Texas. I’ve called the creative space my home for 15 years by designing websites, designing graphics, writing code, creating email campaigns and automations, spinning up e-commerce solutions, and shooting and editing video. I love working on-site with a big, creative team collaborating on projects, and I also enjoy working remotely from my home studio.

Web Development

I’ve been actively developing in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, MySQL for the past 15 years.  I focus mostly on WordPress development nowadays because I believe its one of the fastest and most reliable CMS out there.  I’ve done everything from simple landing pages to full-blown e-commerce solutions with WooCommerce to fully custom experiences with WordPress Multisite (see MyChampionPage below).

Email Development & Automation

Web Development and Email Development pretty much go hand in hand in my world.  Almost every website I create includes some sort of email capture that leads into services like MailChimp, ActiveCampaign or Constant Contact.  Transaction and Marketing email automations are usually tied into my e-commerce websites and trigger campaigns based on purchases or non-purchases.

Graphic Design

My design career began in my teenage years working in a print department using InDesign (back when it was insanely hard to use!), and I quickly adapted to incorporate PhotoShop and Illustrator. I started off designing print pieces (brochures, flyers, collateral, business cards, etc.), and I migrated into creating PSD emails and websites. Once I started to learn code, I transitioned into designing for the web using HTML and CSS directly in the web browser. This skill greatly diminished the turnaround time for web design, and it allowed collaborators to view live prototypes rather than static designs. Today I design mostly in the web browser with supporting elements created in PhotoShop or Illustrator.

Video Production

What began as a necessity evolved into a passion. After continually coming to a place on projects of relying too heavily on other people to shoot and edit videos, I knew something had to give. Ever the self-starter, I learned the craft of shooting and editing videos, and over the past several years, I’ve fallen in love with the process of producing, shooting and editing video content.

2019 - CURRENT : FREELANCE WeB DEVELOPER | DANIEL HANNON, LLC

Since my departure from working with the AdvoCare community, I have worked alongside several different clients doing everything from Ministry websites to health and fitness membership sites. I’ve been creating and focusing on e-commerce solutions with WordPress and WooCommerce. I’ve also contracted with a few creative agencies to help them with their larger clients. I definitely enjoy the freedom that comes with being a freelance developer but I also love the process of working on large projects with an entire creative team.

2013 - CURRENT : MEDIA DIRECTOR | BETHEL DALLAS CHURCH

For the past 7 years, it has been an honor to hold a part-time position at Bethel Dallas Church building out and managing the LIVE production team. This position brings me great joy as I work alongside the younger generation each week producing Bethel’s online church service. I built and continue to maintain their entire online presence of several WordPress installs, integration into the Church Online Platform, Planning Center, MailChimp, and ProPresenter. In 2019, I had the privilege of building out an Apple TV App, iOS App, and Android App for the congregation using SubSplash and WordPress.

2004 - 2013 : SENIOR ONLINE MARKETING WEB DEVELOPER | KENNETH COPELAND MINISTRIES

During my time at KCM I worked closely with the Marketing Department to execute daily, weekly, monthly and yearly marketing campaigns centered around product promotion, TV broadcasts, automated email campaigns, and live events. My role was unique because I helped to pioneer WordPress development and production within KCM. The KCM IT Department relied heavily on Drupal as the main CMS but the turn around time for the production of these websites was very long compared to WordPress. I also built custom designed website from scratch with PHP, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. I regularly took PSD or AI files from our Designer and worked to bring these designs to life in the browser with code.

Side Hustles

You can’t be in the space long without coming up with some ideas of your own!  I find it to be a fun and rewarding way to not only continue to learn and sharpen my craft but to also stay up to date with the everchanging online technologies.  Over the past 6 years, I’ve launched a few startups utilizing technologies like WordPress and WooCommerce.

2018 - Current : MVEMENT - House of Health

I've always been into sports and fitness and what better way to leverage my creative skills than to become part owner in a fitness and wellness center! In 2018, I started working with group of likeminded investors to build a unique fitness experience in Dallas called MVEMENT. The goal of this project was not to build just anther gym but create a place that focused on helping people in mind, body, and community. In 2020 we launched this project and we are still actively building. Currently, I maintain the online presence as well as support the lighting, audio, and technology inside the building. This is a passion project for me and I hope to see this MVEMENT continue to grow!

2015 - 2017 : MY CHAMPION PAGE

I created and web page building platform specifically designed for AdvoCare Distributors that allowed them to create landing pages with video and production information and features that allowed them to design their own web pages in a way that made sense for the customers they were prospecting. Using WordPress Multisite I was able to create a custom theme that was duplicated for each install that for AdvoCare Distributors. Giving them the ability to create fully customed product landing pages. I ran this online business for 2 years with over 3,000 active users.

Daniel Hannon worked for us and with us for approximately 7 years.  In that time, Daniel became like family to our entire family of 3 boys and their spouses.  Daniel’s overarching strength is to get things done with excellence and settle for nothing less.  He is the best IT guy that I have ever seen, but his skills go way beyond technology.  He has incredible strategic vision, accompanied by the capacity to execute any strategic vision with a solid plan of action to see excellence as the end result.  In turn, Daniel produces results.  Whatever he puts his hand to, he produces big-time results.

I have seen him troubleshoot issues and problems from too many areas of professional skills to list.  They range from carpentry, to electrical and mechanical, to high-level technology.  I have seen very few things that Daniel does not know how to do and do it well.  He is a great problem solver and someone that I always want to bounce things off of in order to get his perspective on how to proceed with decisions that we make in business.
